Lufkin’s Rising Country Music Star, Bryan Harkness, Releases His Debut Album – One Night Rodeo

Bryan Harkness’ much anticipated debut artist album, One Night Rodeo, is set for CD and digital release on July 27, 2010, by Tierra Studios. When Bryan was only ten years old, his grandfather gave him an old guitar and taught him how to play. By the time he turned eleven, he was playing on stage at bluegrass festivals around Texas, and thus Bryan began his musical journey.

At eighteen years old and fresh out of high school, Bryan began his professional music career,
touring for more than four years with legendary country and western artist Ray Price.  During this time, he also performed on stages such as the historic Ryman Auditorium, Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry and D.C.’s Kennedy Center, accompanying such musical luminaries as Gene Watson, Willie Nelson, Vince Gill, Lee Ann Womack, Kris Kristopherson, The Judds, and Martina McBride.

Now, after playing as a side musician for so many others, Bryan is stepping into the
spotlight with the release of his debut album, One Night Rodeo.  “My biggest influence for this album came from touring and being on the road…this is when I realized I wanted to pursue
a musical career and began working on my album,” says Bryan.  “I draw on inspiration from everyday experiences and just about everything in life sparks something,” says Bryan.  His “down-home” mentality and creative prowess shine through on his original songs.

“Expect more playing and touring within the next few months now that the album is complete,” says Harkness, “I cannot wait to tour because I’ve always enjoyed meeting new people, and getting to see how the audience feels and responds to my music is going to be an amazing experience.”

Bryan Harkness’ One Night Rodeo album release party is set for July 25th, 2010 at  McGonigel’s Mucky Duck located at 2425 Norfolk, Houston, Texas 77098. Tickets may be purchased from the Mucky Duck for $15 with a $20 ticket option that will include an autographed copy of the album.  The show starts at 6:00 pm.

Album previews, pre-orders of the CD, and purchasable mp3 versions of the album can
be found online at www.bryanharkness.com.

MyCountrySpace.com is featuring my profile

For the past couple months I’ve been playing around with a great social network called MyCountrySpace.com. I’ve enjoyed meeting fellow country  music lovers and interacting with them. Recently the site is featuring my profile on the homepage! I think that’s pretty cool.

A Sound Investment by Rusty Graham

Rusty Graham of Houston Community Newspapers visited Tierra Studios last month to chat and observe us while we recorded songs for my album.

Rusty’s story, “A Sound Investment” published today in the River Oaks Examiner, and it’s an amazing representation of everything we’re working to do.

Gilbert Sedeno and Glenn Wheeler are busy at a panel of knobs, gauges and displays that would make a 747 blush.

“What’s that noise?” asks Sedeno. “I’m hearing something. What is that?”

Sedeno is talking to musician Bryan Harkness, who’s in an isolation studio and who’s laying down some guitar parts for an upcoming single.

Harkness tells Sedeno that he’s just put new strings on his guitar — maybe what he’s hearing is the “stiffness” of those strings.

Maybe, says Sedeno. Play it again.

Listen to “We Don’t have to Walk Alone”

I’m proud to announce that my song “We Don’t Have to Walk Alone” is being played on KJ 103.3 in Lufkin, TX. The song is about a couple that sticks together through hard times. Although things have been rocky in the past, there’s still time to work together to sort things out.
